George "Sonny" Tyler Jr.

1940 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George "Sonny" Tyler, a beloved member of the Eastport community, on October 15, 2024, at the age of 84. Born on September 1, 1940, George was a kind and gentle soul who touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a retired lieutenant from Annapolis Fire Department. He was known for his great sense of humor and his love for the water, spending countless hours on the Chesapeake Bay. George will be remembered for his generosity, wisdom, and unwavering optimism. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by one son John Tyler (Clarissa), one daughter Debra Rosati (Harry), Sonny's partner in life Sandra Brashears and her two children and granddaughter Terri, Robin and Heather. Five grandchildren Jennifer (Billy), Heather (Daniel), Natalie, Kaitlyn and Emily and two great grandchildren Brandon and Danielle. George will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate George's life on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 11am until his funeral service begins at 1 pm at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater, MD 21037.
