Helen B. Dougherty

Helen B. Dougherty, 103, a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County died on October 22, 2022 at the Assisted Living Well Compassionate Care in Millersville, MD. She was born on December 15, 1918 in Lake Shore, Maryland to the late John and Frances Wagner. Mrs. Dougherty was a past member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Elks Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Dougherty worked at various jobs but most enjoyed caring for her family and was a passionate cook. Her hobbies in her younger years included sewing, bowling, dancing, boating, swimming, traveling and spending time at the Ocean City home. Later she enjoyed crossword puzzles, word games, coloring, wild card games, watching Orioles baseball and eating sweets. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Herbert F. Dougherty, sisters; Josephine Giddings, Carolyn Palen, and Frances Hackman and her brother Frank Wagner. She is survived by her son Dennis Dougherty. Friends may visit on Saturday, October 29th from 10:30 to 11:00 am at the Stallings Funeral Home where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake at 90 Ritchie Highway Pasadena, MD 21122 or to the staff at Assisted Living Well Compassionate Care at 271 West Pasadena Rd.
