Janet Martino Obituary

Janet Martino, loving wife and mother of a son and daughter, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. Janet was born August 11, 1945, in New Jersey to Anne and Henry Gehrhardt. Janet had a great love and compassion for animals. She worked for many years as a Veterinary Assistant at Animal Medical Clinic in Annapolis and nurtured, helped and brought home many strays. She had boundless compassion and concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others. She was always empathetic and optimistic. She also worked for years as a sales representative at Hecht Co. and beauty consultant for Estee Lauder at Macys in Annapolis. Janet's greatest loves were her children and grandchildren. A loving and caring mother, grandmother and wife, Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ralph Martino, daughter Shelley Martino, son David Martino, sister Marianne Knapp, brother Henry Gehrhardt and grandchildren, Riley, Reese, Rhett, Aubrey. A memorial gathering will take place at Lasting Tributes, located at 814 Bestgate Road, Annapolis, Md Thursday Feb 24 from 5 till 7 pm. A funeral will be held at Saint John Newman Catholic Church in Annapolis, located at 620 N Bestgate Rd, Annapolis, MD Friday Feb 25 at 10:30 am. This will be followed by a reception in the church banquet hall.
