Janet was born on March 3, 1949 to Donald and Marjorie Shiffler. She was a member of the graduating class of 1967 of Glen Burnie High School and of the class of 1971 of the University of Maryland. Janet enjoyed a rewarding career as an administrator at the Maryland Department of Transportation. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Branson, Missouri.
Janet's passion in life was serving God, which she did, through acts of
kindness, generosity and service. While living in Anne Arundel County, MD, she attended the Heritage Community Church, with whom she participated in mission trips to supply the needs of those in Appalachia. While living in Eldersburg, MD, she attended the Baltimore Christian Faith Center located in Baltimore County, MD. Janet was a "cheerful giver", who excelled at pouring out her resources to help family, friends and complete strangers, in their times of need. She expressed her love for the Lord by "feeding His sheep". She prayerfully and financially supported needy children, in the US and abroad.
Janet was preceded in death by both parents and by her brother, Gary.
A memorial service to celebrate her life, will be held on Saturday, April
21st at 3:00 PM, at Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, 1200 Linden Avenue,
Baltimore, MD 21227. All are welcome!
