Joan Palmer Obituary
Joan A. Palmer, age 70, died November 24, 2017, with her family by her side at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD. Joan was born on February 18, 1947 in Chestertown, MD to Allen and Virginia Gill. A longtime resident of Annapolis, MD, Joan worked at Annapolis High School for over 15 years. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Doug, moved to Bethany Beach, DE where they have resided for almost 20 years. Joan is survived by her husband of 43 years, Doug Palmer; daughter and son-in-law, Allison and Tom Barnhill; grandchildren, Avery and Logan; mother, Virginia Gill and brother, Jim Gill. The family is planning a private celebration of life at a future date. Arrangements are being handled by Melson Funeral Services.

I remember Joan well when she worked at Arinc, before going to the BOE ... and remember Doug very well. I am extremely sorry of hear of Joan's passing. My prayers are with Doug and the family.

My deepest sympathies! I had the extreme pleasure of working with Joan at Annapolis High School - I started in 1993 and Joan impressed me from my first interview with her kindness. She was a wonderful person who is often remembered by those of us still here at A-High.
