Matthew Bower Obituary

Matthew C. Bower, 30, a lifelong resident of Glen Burnie, died June 14 in Baltimore. He was born in Baltimore, January 14, 1984. Mr. Bowers graduated from Mt. St. Joseph in 2002 and then joined the U.S. Marines in 2005 until 2009. He attended Magothy Chelsea Community Lutheran Church and Harundale Presbyterian Church. Mr. Bowers was a member of the Tri Harder Triathlon Club. He enjoyed working out, running, and socializing with his many friends. Mr. Bower is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Robert S. and Marilyn M. Bower and his maternal grandfather J. Donald Burke. He is survived by his father, J. Kirk Bower of Glen Burnie; his mother, Donna Webb and step father James of Pasadena; his sister, Megan M. Bower of Glen Burnie; his maternal grandmother, Marie Burke of Glen Burnie; and two uncles, Michael Burke of Pasadena and Don Burke of Baltimore. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, at the Stallings Funeral Home, P.A. where funeral services will be held that evening at 8 p.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Tri Harder Triathlon Club at 501 Greenwood Rd. Linthicum, MD 21090. For online condolences, please visit www.stallingsfh.com
