Phyllis Farrell Obituary

Phyllis Ann Farrell, 73, died Sept. 9, 2022, at Anne Arundel Medical Center. The daughter of William C. and Ann K. Farrell, Phyllis was born Sept. 29, 1948, in Baltimore and was a longtime resident of Annapolis and Arnold. Phyllis graduated from Severna Park High School in 1966 and studied art at American University. Following college, she began working at Bell Atlantic. She held various managerial positions over the course of four decades at Bell Atlantic/Verizon until her retirement. For more than 50 years, she was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis. Her many roles at the church included serving as chair of the administrative board, teaching Sunday School, coordinating weddings, singing in the choir, playing handbells and participating in the Calvary Players. She enjoyed art and music with friends and taught water aerobics at Anne Arundel Community College for several years. Phyllis is survived by her brother Mark (Jane) Farrell of Annapolis and three godchildren. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd., Annapolis. Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com
