Phyllis Ann "Kitty" Whittington

Phyllis "Kitty" Ann Whittington, 85, a lifelong resident of Maryland, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 in her home. Mrs. Whittington was born January 24, 1938 in Baltimore, MD to the late Achille and Lillian Bressi. In her early years, Mrs. Whittington worked in hospitality through several different hotels. She worked at the Baltimore Travel Plaza for 15 years and then went on to work for the Restaurant Association for 20 years until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of Saint Leo's in Baltimore where she grew up and also Saint Jude's. When she moved to Pasadena, she attended Saint Jane Francis Catholic Church. She was active in Charity work, especially with Saint Jude's. In her free time she enjoyed playing penny slots, spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. He favorite place to visit was Aruba. She also frequented Disney World and "Harrah's" in Atlantic City. She was a fantastic cook and mixologist. Her signature cuisine was traditional Italian dishes. She enjoyed participating in contests and she was described as being very lucky. She also loved to sing and grew up with music being a big part of her life. An outgoing woman, Mrs. Whittington was described as being "feisty but loving". She will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whittington is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Eugene Whittington; daughter Lisa Wilson and 2 brothers, Anthony Bressi and Frank Bressi, Sr. She is survived by her son Donald Davis (Kathy); daughter Cyndi Acosta (the late David); grandchildren, Matt, Shelly, Scott, Sam, Brittany, Lou, David and Jaqueline and great grandchildren, Adam and Ashlyn. Friends may call Wednesday, July 5th from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Stallings Funeral Home, 3111 Mountain Road, Pasadena, MD 21122 where a service will be held Thursday, July 6th at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
