William Gibson

William "Bill" Gibson, 83, of Annapolis, MD died Monday, Feb. 28, 2022. Born in Pittsburgh, PA he and his family then moved to Bedford, VA. He spent his college years at Washington and Lee University, as a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He entered the Navy as a Lieutenant, serving on the U.S.S. Allen M. Sumner destroyer before making his way to Washington, DC where he met his wife, Libby, settling in Annapolis, MD with their two daughters, Jessica and Elisa. Bill retired in 2002 after many years of faithful service as the Vice President/Principal of Howard Phillips, Co. in WDC. Bill was a former member of the St. Anne's Church Vestry. His special interests included building model boats, drinking a good Manhattan, and traveling the world with his wife, Libby, and their dear friends Becky and Jim. He was predeceased by his parents, Catherine and Frank Gibson and by his brother, Frank Gibson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth "Libby" Gibson; his two children, Jessica Moran and her husband, John and three children, Sara, Eleanor, and Jack; and Elisa Gibson and her husband, George Brown and her four step-children Richard, Caroline, Caitlin, and Wyatt. A funeral service for Bill will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 11:00 am at St. Anne's Church, Church Circle, Annapolis, MD.
