C. Zepp Obituary

C. Levine Zepp, 88, of Westminster, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House. Born May 7, 1921, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late Clarence A. and Rachel Devilbiss Zepp. He was the husband of Mary Devilbiss Zepp, whom he married Aug. 21, 1940. He worked for 40 years as a press operator for Beacon Steel. He served in the 78th Division, Army, during World War II in France, Belgium (Ardennes) and Germany. He was a member of the 78th Division Veterans Association. He was also a member of the Church of the Open Door where he belonged to the Super 60's. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Shirley M. Stansbury, of Hanover, Pa., Charlotte L. and Clarence L. Zepp Jr., both of Westminster and Charles W. Zepp, of Ocala, Fla.; siblings Helen M. Zepp, of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Evelyn R. Eyler, of Westminster, and Edward S. Zepp, of Hellam, Pa.; grandchildren Jeffrey Stansbury and Teresa Rippeon; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by siblings Mary A. Helwig, Margaret Watson, Leona C. Schmick, Garland E. and Berlyn A. Zepp. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 1000, Westminster, MD 21158; or to the charity of your choice.
