Carroll Fink Obituary

Carroll "Mike" Conrad Fink, 83, of Millsboro, Delaware, and formerly of New Windsor, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on April 22, 1942, in Arlington, Virginia, he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Sallie Fink. A proud graduate of Richard Montgomery High School, Class of 1960, Mike went on to serve his country in the United States Navy. After his military service, he built a long and fulfilling career with C&P Telephone, now Lucent Technologies, retiring as a dedicated telephone repair technician. Mike spent many years living and working in Montgomery County, Maryland, before moving to Carroll County, Maryland, in 1988. He was an active member of St. James Lutheran Church in Union Bridge. In 2023, he and his beloved wife Pam, retired to Millsboro to enjoy life near the beach. A man of many passions, Mike had a deep love for old cars and antique tractors. He found joy in working on model trains, woodworking, and fishing, and was often found puttering in his garage - always tinkering with something. He had a warm smile, a kind heart, and an unwavering devotion to his family, which was the true center of his world. In retirement, Mike and Pam cherished their time traveling and especially enjoyed going on cruises together. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his siblings: Doris, LeRoy, Donald (Mary Ellen), and Philip (Sadonia), as well as his sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen and Kay; and a son-in-law, Steven Murphy. Mike is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Pamela Fink; his children: Jeffrey Alan Fink (Bobby), Carlene Francis Salkeld (Joel), Gregory Scott Woodson Jr. (Jennifer), Lori Anne Murphy, Johannette Louise Rabovsky (Eric), and Michael Eser Fink (Joanna); his cherished grandchildren: Christina Geib (Andrew), Mason Angleberger (Hanny), Brady Carroll (Shannon), Nikki Woodson (Brad), Josclyn Fink, Evan Carroll, Courtney Salkeld, Piper Woodson (Johnny), Lena Angleberger, and Natalie Murphy; and his great-grandchildren: Aubree Carroll, Gabby Geib, Noah Geib, Ariel Carroll, and Maislee Saunders. He is also survived by his brothers: Milton, Walter, and Roger; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly. Mike's legacy of kindness, humor, hard work, and love for family will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him. A visitation will be held at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge on Saturday, August 23 from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Military interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Union Bridge. Memorial contributions may be made his memory to St. James Food Pantry, PO Box 2, Union Bridge, MD 21791. Leave a message or memory on his "tribute wall" at www.hartzlerfuneralhome.com.
