My children and I began attending St Paul's this winter and one of my first impressions was the warmness of Mr. Staggs as he greeted us, asked how we were doing, and made us feel absolutely welcomed into this new place. He was a very warm hearted man who cared deeply for everyone he met, and I am incredibly saddened to hear of his sudden passing.

How shocking it is to hear of Carroll's passing! How kind he and Waltraut have always been to me, faithfully visiting through good and bad times. Just a week ago they visited me here at Bonnie Blink. He gave me a bigger-than-usual hug that day. I will miss him dearly. I am sure Paul, Carl, and Kenny are on the welcoming committee for him in heaven.

I was blessed to teach along side Carroll for many years at East Middle and remember so well his stories, humor and dedication to his students and fellow teachers. After 1984 even though we were at different schools, when we saw each other it was like old times. He never changed and I'm sure all of us who knew him were better for knowing him. God bless to his love one and fond memories of a great guy.

I am very saddened by the passing of Mr. Staggs. He was a great teacher, a lifelong public school activist, and an overall genuine person. I will miss our talks about baseball and retirement planning, both of which he was an expert.
