David Goodwin Obituary

David Laurence Goodwin, 79, of Finksburg, died Saturday November 27, 2021 at BridgingLife Dove House in Westminster. Born November 20, 1942 in Braintree, MA., he was the son of the late Laurence Goodwin and Regina Shine Goodwin. He was the husband of Paula Goodwin, whom he married on August 5, 1972. Before retiring he worked for 25 years as a firefighter at BWI Airport, and then 13 years for the Maryland State Police as a dispatcher. He enjoyed model trains, camping and fishing. Surviving in addition to his wife are son Stephen Goodwin, siblings Philip Goodwin and wife Donna, Patricia Seling and husband Raymond, Mark Goodwin and wife Debbie; grandchildren Joseph M., Ashley M., and Kiersten F. Goodwin and a great granddaughter Lakelyn Goodwin. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Michael D. Goodwin in 2017. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 2 at Carrolton Church of God Cemetery, 2151 Bethel Road, Finksburg with Rev. Dave Meador officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to BridgingLife Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, Md, 21157.
