Gary Shaffer Obituary

Gary Wayne Shaffer, 61, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012.

He was the husband of Mary Beth Dembeck Shaffer.

He was the president and owner of CCS Inc. for 38 years. He was a pioneer in the hydro seeding business and was a Christmas tree grower. His trees were selected to go to the White House in 1990.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Taylor, Spencer and Joe Shaffer; and siblings Judy Cramer and Tom and Kevin Shaffer.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of memorial Mass, noon Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 63 Sacred Heart Lane, Glyndon. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Catoctin Forest Alliance, P.O. Box 411, Thurmont, MD 21788.

I am so very sorry and shocked to hear of Gary's passing. You and the boys are in my thoughts and prayers!!!!

Rest assured that God has you all in his armes and will carry you, comfort you and help you in all in this!!

Unfortuneately, I know what it is like to have lost a husband. My husband died almost 3 years ago So,I promise you , should you ever need someone to talk with or even cry with, I wlll be there for you.
