Ihde Daniel

1997 - 2021

Daniel Joseph Ihde, 24, of Eldersburg, died Sunday, May 30, 2021 at Northwest Hospital. Born March 4, 1997 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was the son of Alexander G. and Sharon Marie Helmick Ihde. Daniel was a very compassionate, happy young man who defied many odds in life considering all of his medical and physical limitations. Daniel's love of life, laughter and mischief were contagious. Though he wasn't able to speak, his hugs expressed his love to those around him and he would make himself understood to the delight of his family, friends, and caregivers. He most enjoyed visiting his family, going to church, and loved the praise band music, being with people, going out into the community and watching his favorite shows and movies. He was loved and adored, and will be missed by so many. In addition to his parents, Daniel is survived by sister Anne Rock, her husband Sequoia, and their daughter Alora, brother Michael Ihde, his grandmothers (Oma) Irmgard (Theinert) Ihde, and Judy Junkins and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfathers Klaus Ihde and Joseph Drexler. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 12th at 1pm at Faith Lutheran Church, 1700 St. Andrew's Way, Eldersburg, MD 21784. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at church.
