Margaret Allen Daniel, 71, the only child of the late Emma Allen and Joseph Allen passed away March 23, 2026. Margaret, raised in
Eminence, KY, was a member of North Frankfort Baptist Church,
Frankfort, KY.
Margaret attended Eminence High School, where she was voted Homecoming Queen. After graduating, she attended Kentucky State University (KSU), where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with Departmental Honors, majoring in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. She was also a recipient of the National Dean's Award for 1980–1981.
Margaret took pride in being a Member of the Prosecutors Advisory Council and a Kentucky Colonel for nearly 40 years. A lifelong scholar, Margaret was deeply committed to learning and continuing her education. She went on to earn both her Master of Public Administration and her Ph.D. in Sociology from KSU.
Margaret strongly believed in the value and importance of volunteering. She viewed service as life-changing-not only for those being helped, but also for those giving their time-offering meaningful professional, educational, and social benefits.
Throughout her life, Margaret volunteered in countless ways, both near and far. She assisted many individuals with durable powers of attorney, living wills, and quitclaim deeds, and served as executrix for several estates. She was also a devoted health advocate for friends, family, and church members, helping them prepare questions for doctors, providing transportation to appointments, and reviewing medications to support their well-being.
Margaret also volunteered her time helping to build homes for those in need. She often recalled assisting a widow who walked two miles each way through woods and back roads to work at a local restaurant in order to care for his five children. Margaret shared, "Helping build his home and witnessing the joy, hope, and gratitude of his family has stayed with me every day."
In addition, Margaret helped individuals, churches, and organizations establish nonprofit entities with missions ranging from acts of mercy and ministry to education, community development, and social welfare. Margaret was a very active volunteer assisting two local nonprofit organizations, Merriweather & King Street School Fund, Inc. and Washington Lodge #1513.
Her mission work extended internationally to Third World countries, as well as locally through her work with refugees in Kentucky. She served as a consultant with Hope for Refugees, Inc., based in Las Vegas, assisting individuals and families in need within Kentucky. Margaret believed there were always opportunities to help others, and she lived that belief daily. She had a giving heart and remained committed to serving, supporting, and uplifting others until her final days.
Though an only child, Margaret was cherished as a daughter by her aunts, Mary Hayden and Nancy Lewis, and her uncle, Joe Lawson. Additionally, she was beloved by Terelyn Hayden Bradley, the daughter she never had; Phillip Smith, the son she never had; DeJuan Carpenter, her godson, and special friends, Sherron Busby, Kevin Mason, Kim Shannon, Rodney Gross, Michael Fields, Regina Brown, Jim Daniel and Lynn Cruz. She also leaves behind a large circle of family, friends, and cousins who will deeply mourn her passing.
The family will hold a private committal service in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
