Marlin Siddons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Feb. 18, 2026.
Marlin Duane Siddons passed from this earthly life into the heavenly realms on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Marlin was born Tuesday, November 2, 1954, in Morgan County Memorial Hospital on Main Street in Martinsville to the late Kenneth Mundy Siddons and Cora Evelyn (Montgomery) Siddons.

He grew up in Eminence and loved the open spaces, especially enjoying time on his grandparents' farms in Cloverdale and Pataskala, Ohio. As a young child, he enjoyed teasing his sisters. Marlin was an excellent percussionist, enjoyed basketball, and driving his MG.

After graduating from Eminence High School in 1973, Marlin enlisted in the US Coast Guard and served his country as a flight navigator. He especially enjoyed his time at Kodiak Island, Alaska. After his retirement, he worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a member of AmVets Post 99 in Indianapolis.

A loving father and step-father, he enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and supported their school endeavors. He loved being a Papaw and enjoyed his visits with grandchildren about music, video games, and movies they enjoyed.

Marlin is survived by his children, Athena Doane, Jerome Siddons, Reba Smith, and his step-children, Sharon (Brian) Glaser, Kristy (Douglas) Mize, and Casey (Tommy) Stepp, partner Diane Poteet, eight grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, and great step-grandchildren, his sisters, Pamela Siddons (Gordon L.) Crone and Valerie Siddons, two nephews and one niece. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Mary Bernice (Samples) Siddons.
