Janet Grace Wasmus

Janet Grace Wasmus, known as Mom, Grandmom, and GG, peacefully passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 88. She was born on May 3, 1935, in Baltimore, Maryland. Janet was the beloved wife of the late James Albert Wasmus. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mae Geldmacher, as well as her only brother, Edward Carroll Geldmacher. Janet is survived by her three children Victoria Collett, Janet Lee Struder, and Bud Vogel, Jr. and their spouses. She will be lovingly remembered by her seven grandchildren Alaina Redwinski, Adam Storie, Joanna Lyle, Nikki Smith, Brittany Carr, Eric Struder, and Zachary Vogel, and their spouses and her twelve great-grandchildren. Janet was a beautiful and outgoing woman determined to live life to the fullest. She was known for her strength, generosity, love of music and dancing and for being the life of the party. The most important times to her were the cherished moments spent with her family. She was blessed with a deep faith in the Lord, and was a member of Westminster United Methodist Church. Janet's favorite things included family vacations, weekly visits with her children, taking her grandchildren on special outings, and playing any game you wanted. She enjoyed the ocean, traveling on her boat, attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals, and concerts. She loved rooting for the Orioles and Ravens, spreading laughter and being the 'Kissy Monster' to her grandchildren. A service to honor Janet's life will not be held, as she chose to donate her body to science for the benefit of others. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in her memory, may be made to the charities that meant the most to her - St. Jude's, House of Ruth, or the Alzheimer's Foundation. Janet will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and faith will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Always and forever.
