Joseph LiVolsi Obituary

Joseph Anthony LiVolsi, Sr born March 6, 1935, died on October 14, 2025, at the age of 90. Sandra Swinney LiVolsi born August 24, 1936, died October 18, 2025, age 89. Both died of natural causes in Bradenton, FL. Joe was the son of the late Antonio LiVolsi (Castelbuono, Sicily) and Josephine Puliafico (Olivieri, Sicily). He grew up in Barre, MA and went to college at Jacksonville State College in Jacksonville, AL. Sandra was the daughter of the late Frank Swinney and Gladys Estelle Elizabeth Willis. She grew up in Cedartown, GA. She also attended Jacksonville State College where she met the love of her life, Joe. The Yankee Italian Catholic and the Southern Baptist Georgia peach were married for 68 years and were truly devoted to each other. After college, Joe spent time in the Army, worked in retail, and then found his true calling, teaching industrial arts. He taught at East Middle School, FSK High School, and West Middle School in Carroll County MD. Sandra was also a teacher. She ended her career at Westminster High School where she taught typing, shorthand and general business. Both loved teaching and enjoyed all their students. They retired to Bradenton, FL. Joe and Sandra are survived by their daughter Terry (John) Cisar, sons Joe (Theresa) and Frank, grandchildren Joseph (Sheila) LiVolsi, Frank (Kate) LiVolsi, Catherine LiVolsi and Joey Cisar and great-granddaughter Mairi LiVolsi. They were wonderful and will be missed. Services will be held in Bradenton with burial at Sarasota National Cemetery.
