Joseph Sevison Obituary



Joseph Wayne Sevison, Sr. age 33 of Catonsville, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 1, 2017 of complication from a cancerous brain tumor he had been battling for 3 months. Born November 11, 1983 in New Bern, NC, he is survived by his adoring wife Angela Sevison, 11 year old son Joey, Jr., 1 year old son Porter and unborn baby due in April "Baby Bo". He leaves behind his loving mother and step-father; Linda & Tim Lighthiser, his father and step-mother; Bruce & Eileen Sevison, and his mother-in-law; Susan Howes. He will be missed dearly by his siblings; Bruce & Lisa Sevison, Elizabeth (Baba) Sevison, Dave & Joy Sevison, Samantha & Jesse Dearing, Branden & Jessica Calton, Melissa & Matthew Kocian, and TJ & Tara Howes. He was the most amazing uncle to Amanda, Meagan, Summer, Skyler, Lil Bruce, Ryan, Breanna, Morgan, Madison, Hunter, and Heaven. He leaves behind a multitude of cousins, friends and loved ones that will forever be changed by his passing. Joe lived every day to the fullest, believing tedious chores could be set to the side in order to enjoy time and create memories with his family and friends. He was a heavy equipment mechanic and obsessed with all things motorized. His hobbies included rebuilding hot rods, demolition derbies, figure 8 and dirt track racing, and dirt bike riding. He loved and took great pride in cooking, grilling,and meat smoking as well as his Halloween & Christmas decorating. His most favorite times included trips to Knoebels and the cabin in Oakland. He was welcomed into Heaven by his grandmothers, beloved brother Paul, Nanny, father-in-law; Neil and 1st born; Scooter. The family will have a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 7, 2017 @ Reese Volunteer Fire Company, 1745 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD 21157. Guests will be received starting at noon, with a short service @ 1 pm followed by a potluck party @ 2 pm. Joe's wish was for everyone to enjoy time together, so we ask that you bring pictures and stories to share that can be left for his children to remember him by. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the families gofundme account in Joe's name or the St. Jude foundation that he donated to for many years.
