Leland Bussiere Obituary
Leland Richard Bussiere, 50, of Westminster, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.
Born Oct. 31, 1962, in Attleboro, Mass., he was the son of Rosemary Dismore Bussiere and the late Phillip R. Bussiere. He was the husband of Virginia "Ginny" Schuler Bussiere.
He was involved with the Boy Scouts of America, a founding member of Troop No. 2007 of Westminster, and was an avid outdoorsman. He was extensively involved as a member of Grace Bible Church, including several mission trips around the world, and held various positions on the Church Board. He enjoyed helping people in need, using his construction skills.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are sons Nicholas Paul and Joshua Peter Bussiere; siblings Bruce Bussiere, of Canton, Conn., Neil Bussiere, of Calabasas, Calif., Lori Hoyle and Wendy Buchanan, both of Wrentham, Mass.; and many other relatives and friends.
Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Grace Bible Church, 3250 Charmil Drive, Manchester.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are by Eckhardt Funeral Chapel in Manchester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Bible Church, 3250 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD 21102; to the American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Suite 908, Eldersburg, MD 21784; or Gideons International, 606 Deer Park Road, Westminster, MD 21157.

Today's service was a beautiful testament to Leland's life. I found myself tearing up, not just at his passing, but at everything he accomplished in the short time that he was granted. I think that from birth, Leland never once veered from the course his life was meant to follow. I know Leland wasn't afraid. He knew where this next journey would take him because he had spent his whole life working towards the rewards of heaven. I like to think that when he next opened his eyes the first thing he saw was a yellow lab running towards him and that he was overwhelmed by the feeling of home. Leland, from the bottom of my heart, I am so glad that I could call you my friend.

It is with great sympathy that I wish to express how much Leland will be missed. I worked with him for a short time; but, it didn't take much for him to leave an imprint on your heart. I remember the funny stories and adventures that he'd share. He was a treasure on Earth and will be a valuable angel in Heaven.

Leland was a great example to everyone of how to treat all people kindly and with good humour. He was also one of our best workers at AECOM, and was loved by all. We will always remember him.
