Robert L. Weckesser Jr.

Robert Leonard Weckesser Jr., age 65, of Sykesville, MD, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD. He was born May 28, 1960, in Baltimore City, MD, the son of the late Robert Leonard Weckesser Sr. and the late Bernadette Weckesser (nee Buchwald). He loved his family & friends and will be missed by many. He served in the Navy, USS Portland, was a member of the Mt. Airy American Legion Post #191 and employed by RMF Engineering for 30 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, cooking, and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Sylvie M. Weckesser (nee Lantz) and his children, Deyanna & Kyle Finch, Elayna & Steve Brown, Michael & Jess Weckesser, and stepson Ty Lee Mitts Jr., as well as his grandchildren, Lacey, Keaton, Jack, Luke, Lyla, and Landon. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Joseph Weckesser. Gathering for family and friends will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA., 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784(Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, 5pm- 7pm; with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM.
