Ruby Hersberger

Ruby Horning Hersberger, 93, of Westminster, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Nova Springs Assisted Living. Born July 25, 1930 in Carroll County, she was the daughter of the late Harry A. Horning and Maraud Greenholtz Horning. She was the beloved wife of the late Aaron Wilson Hersberger, who died December 11, 1980. Before retiring she worked in the cafeteria at Westminster High School and attended Church of the Open Door. She was a 1947 graduate of New Windsor High School. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Vicky Tinkler (Dennis) of Westminster and Nadine Green (Tom) of Westminster; grandchildren Thomas H. Green, Jr. of Westminster, Kathryn Gordon of Henrico, VA, Kimberly Gordon of Hanover, PA, Alexandra Green of New Haven, CT, Amber Green of Westminster, Richard Tinkler of New York, NY, Jennifer Tinkler of Dallas, TX, Sarah Tinkler of New York, NY, Bethany Porter of Frostburg, MD and Benjamin Tinkler of McKinney, TX; great-grandchildren Teddy Campos, Clara Campos, Charlie Campos, Zoey Porter, Riley Porter, Eric Tinkler and Benjamin Tinkler. She was predeceased by her siblings Lloyd, Lester and Gerald Horning, Thelma Turner, Naomi Welk and Mildred Horning. A funeral service will be held Monday, November 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 East Main Street, Westminster, MD. with her grandson Thomas H. Green, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
