Phyllis Ann Hersberger, 88, of Lapel, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Beaumont Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on July 17, 1935, in Anderson, Indiana to Alva and Gladys (Bell) Hall. She was a 1953 graduate of Lapel High School. She was married to "Herbie" on June 15, 1956. They were married for 48 years.
She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband and son. She could drive a tractor better than most men. She enjoyed her pond fishing, flowers and mowing. She enjoyed traveling to Vegas and Arizona. She also enjoyed going to casinos. She enjoyed going out to dinner with her family and friends. She enjoyed visiting her neighbors on her John Deere Gator often.
Phyllis is survived by a daughter, Chris (husband, Keith) Lynch; a daughter-in-law, Patty Hersberger; two grandchildren, Meghan (husband, Travis) Wise and Joel Hersberger; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Wise and Mara Wise; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Herbert Hersberger in 2004; her son, Mori James Hersberger in 2021; her parents; two grandsons, Joshua Lynch and Jordan Lynch; and a brother, James Hall.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Homes, Lapel Chapel, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051. Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
