Samuel Farace Obituary
Samuel J. Farace, age 75, of Sykesville, passed away on Monday, February 9, 2016, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House surrounded by his family. Born, July 27, 1940, in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Quaglioni Farace. He was the husband of Diane Farace, whom he married April 29, 1961, almost 55 years ago. Sam was the owner and operator of Sam's Plaza Body Shop for over 40 years. He enjoyed his hot rod and eating food, especially Italian. His greatest love was spending time with family. Surviving in addition to his wife are son and daughter-in-law, Samuel J., Jr. and Nicole Farace; grandchildren, Christopher J. Pickett and wife, Marijo and Caymen Farace and great-grandchildren, Lauralai and Lillian Pickett. Sam was predeceased by his daughter, Denise Farace who passed away in 2002. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1pm. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. Those desiring may make donations in his memory to the University of Maryland Heart Transplant Team.

Growing up with Sam Jr. was a fun time. I always loved to visit the Body Shop where Sam senior would be hard at work repairing cars to like new condition, but the most important part I realize now was he always took time out of his busy day to to ask about you and give wise advise if you needed it for no charge and we needed it. He was a great strong man that I will always look up to.

Sam was the best neighbor anyone could ask for. If he couldn't help you, he knew somone that could. I will always remember the smile on his face when he would fire up his hot rod or talk about a new restaurant he and Diane discovered. He will surely be missed! Rest in peace my friend.
