They moved to Beltsville, MD, in 1955 where they raised two sons together. Ed passed away suddenly in 1994. Shirley moved to Westminster, MD in 1996 where she lived with her son Allen Kenneth Wharton and his wife Rhonda Jean Wharton. She enjoyed country music, reading, doing puzzles and taking bus trips with various senior centers. In addition to her husband, Shirley is predeceased by her son, Stanley Edward Wharton. She leaves behind her son Allen Wharton and his wife Rhonda, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Services and interment will be private.
