Daniel J. Van Loo

1955 – 2012



Daniel J. Van Loo, 57, died May 17, 2012 with family by his side in Los Angeles, California.



His memorial service, followed by lunch, will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Crossroads Community Church, 28042 Avenue Stanford Unit D, Valencia, CA 91355 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations to be made to Crossroads Community Church: Care Fund, which Dan loved because of its work to help families in need.



Dan was born January 31, 1955 in Providence, Rhode Island to George and Nancy (Ferguson) Van Loo. Danny, as his mother called him, was the oldest of his brothers, Chuck, Chris and Mark. The family moved from Rhode Island to Tucson, Arizona and later settled in Southern California. He attended Arroyo Seco Junior High School and William S. Hart High School, and continued on to pass the state board of Mortuary Sciences at Cypress College in 1977. Dan met his first wife, Denise in high school, with whom he had his two sons, Jim and Jason. In 1996 in his church's single's group, he met his current wife Julie and they were later married on June 13, 1998. As a resident of the Santa Clarita Valley and an active member of Crossroads Community Church, Dan recently found his passion as an Emergency Medical Technician working at Schaeffer Ambulance. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren, Shelby, Samantha, Alexis and "Little" James.
