Charles Wilburn "Chuck" Clowdis Jr.

Charles Clowdis Obituary

Charles Wilburn Clowdis, Jr. of Lookout Mountain, TN passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 81 after a brief illness. He was born to Charles Wilburn Clowdis and Margeret Robinson Clowdis of LaFayette, GA.

Charles graduated from LaFayette High School, Young Harris College, and the University of Georgia.

He was an executive in the Trucking Industry (where he wrote the definitive book on Sales and Marketing still in use today) and as a Transportation consultant for over 5 decades.

Charles enjoyed reading, traveling, collecting, writing and sending postcards (usually from a "surprise" sender). And talking. He was a world-class storyteller who enjoyed entertaining people - both one-on-one and in a group setting through his public speaking.

Among his collections are the most interesting array of friends who visited him faithfully in his last days.

He loved being "Uncle Chuck" to his nieces and nephews; Suzanne Doyle, Elizabeth Veal, Samuel Jones, and Casey Jones as well as 6 great nieces and nephews - all of whom survive him. He is also survived by his former spouse, Anita Jones Clowdis, with whom he remained connected throughout his life.

As per his wishes, there will be a private Celebration of Life in the near future.
