I met Albertini when I was 20 years old. He was then like a big brother. Watching over me and making sure I was doing ok.
After I married a 2nd time I saw him at the bars here and there. Always a big hug and a smile and always "how ya doin" He was truly one of a kind. We surely could use more Dave´s in this world

Worked in the kitchen at theSkylark in Spokane back in the mid 70´s. Dave was a constant and always "holding court" on the bar. I remember "Thumper" and a few others-what a really great time we had. I only wish I´d seen him here in later years.
Blessings Dave-you were one of a kind

One of a kind has become an oft used cliche but this man, David Albertini, was absolutely, unequivocally, one of a kind. Condolences to the family. I´d love to get in contact with Dave, Jr.

Gonzaga Law School 77-80 was a great deal more tolerable because of time
spent watching Mr Albertini shine his light on the masses. Some of my
aquaintances had prolific Bar Talents on so many levels, but it was his
sage advice I have never forgotten: Better to Be a Creator of Memories than
Just a Memory.

I worked at the Skylark in the 80's. One of my favorite memories was David and Jimmy Flaherty singing " Rockin Robin". What a duo! Never a St. Paddy's day goes by without memories. Thank you David for always being so kind. Especially to me and "Dickie the Spinner" Rip

My grandma worked for Albi at the Skylark when I was a kid, maybe 5-6 years old at the time. Best fried chicken in town (and gizzards smothered in sausage gravy). By the time I became old enough to patronize the place during business hours, I went there and noticed little windows above the men's room urinals. I asked "what the hell are those for?". He replied "to see if anyone is hitting on your date while you're in the john." Huh. Made sense. Anyway, I'll miss you, Dave. ~ The "Monster".

Everyone has wonderful memories of the times they spent with david and I'm just one of them. I went to see him on May fifth just days before he passed. He still had the wit and unconquerable spirit as always. He will be missed.

Dear Albertini Family !!!!
I did not know the David´s entire family aside from his father George, brother Frank, and sister Eileen. Thus I address Frank and Eileen, directly, and all of David´s other family members equally.
If ever there was a person who fit the mold of "joie de vivre" it was David Albertini. I attended Junior High School with David as well as Wallace High School with him while playing football and baseball with David. He was a good athlete, especially, as a track runner and wide receiver in football.
David lived life to the fullest and loved to relate stories about growing up in Wallace and its environs.
I´m so thrilled that I renewed our camaraderie over the past two years especially as David started experiencing adverse health issues.
Even then, David seemingly smiled through trials and challenges and he looked at life as he always did ... with a smile emanating from the depth of the kindness of his heart always wanting and seeking to help others.
A special thanks must be tendered to Francie Murray Lane for the care and love she extended to David during some troubling periods he experienced. Thank you Francie!
Many of us will think of David "with a song in his heart !" He was a fabulous trumpeter! David ... you gave all to life ... to others in need ... to the animal kingdom ... and in the final analysis that´s what we are called upon to do in thus seemingly veil of tears called life on Earth. You made it a Heaven on Earth and We thank you Friend for a race well run, David. May God bless you!

Few ever shine as bright as David Albertini. If there was ever a life well lived- he blazed the trail, and he did it with style! If you were hanging out with Albi, you knew an adventure was in the making. What a beautiful soul with the perfect mix of crazy and kind. He had such a way of looking at life that was so simple and so magical, that it just made perfect sense. King of characters, yet kindness and compassion that we all need more of. The world could use a schooling of David Albertini. We'd all be better off for it. We lost a great one indeed.
So Albi... thank you for all the adventures and laughs, for your love for all, and your enormous heart of gold! You will be missed more than words can express, forever loved, and never forgotten. Well done my friend. Well done!

David was a fair minded man who was genuine with his friendships and affections. Every year he would climb up on a table wherever he was and play the Star-Spangled Banner on July 4 and each of those years it brought tears to my eyes. One of my favorite people I'm so sorry to see him go. He held together a large contingent of Friends and made us feel like family. I was honored to know David. He will be missed

I am so saddened to hear of Davids passing.
I can still close my eyes and see him pull up in his old dark blue Studebaker pickup (that had a very faint sign of Albi's Bar & Grill painted on the drivers door) and jump out with a short stogy smoking away and start telling some sort of laugh out loud story. Never ever a dull moment in the life and times with David.
If there are 2 word's to best describe Dave Albertini it would be "one off". David was one of life's treasures and will be missed by one and all.
Rest in Peace My Dear Friend

That may be the best obituary ever. You nailed it!
He was one of a kind and who doesn't have an Albi story. Not sure I could tell mine here....
I did miss any mention of the proverbial football helmets gracing the ceiling over the bar.
You'd a been a great
mayor, Albi!!
