Paulette A. "Tina" Anderson, 80
Paulette Albertine "Tina" Anderson, 80, passed away peacefully encircled by the love of her family at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho on Sunday, August 10, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Paulette Albertine Goulding was born on November 7, 1944, in Birkenhead, England, to parents, Louisa (McGowen) and Joseph Goulding. In her earlier years, she delivered mail with Gerry Marstan of Gerry and the Pacemakers and enjoyed dancing to the Beatles before their fame at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, England. Tina married her love Ian Anderson on March 16, 1963. They established their family the following year with the birth of their son, Stephen in 1964, and the culmination of their family in 1967 when they welcomed daughter, Gayle into the world.
In 1974, Tina immigrated to the United States with her family, anchoring them in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where Tina lived out her life for the past 51 years. The latter of those years were concluded in her dream-home on the Highlands Golf Course, where she became a beloved figure in the neighborhood, a pillar of strength, kindness, and friendship with many who lived there.
Tina was a woman of determination and grace. In her 40s, she pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Lewis and Clark College in 1990 – an achievement that reflected her belief in lifelong learning and professional growth. Her professional journey included roles at Runge Furniture, Louisiana-Pacific, before she retired as an office administrator at Family Health in Coeur d'Alene in 2003.
In 2003, she relocated to West Virginia with husband, Ian until his passing in 2008, after which she returned to Post Falls, Idaho. In 2013, on a world cruise, she found companionship again with Derek Clark, whom she married July 23, 2014. Their time together was filled with the joy of travel, uniting their families on a European vacation in 2015, with Derek's unforeseen passing in October 2016.
Tina's passions were many: she loved to dance and was often the life of the party, lighting up every room with energy and joy. She had a green thumb and filled her yard with vibrant flowers and plants that reflected her love of beauty and nature. Travel was another great joy. She embarked on numerous cruises and journeys to faraway lands, embracing adventure with enthusiasm.
Above all else, Tina cherished her role as mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was deeply proud of her children and her grandchildren's accomplishments. Her five granddaughters and three great-grandsons brought immense pride and happiness into her life. She was affectionately known as the matriarch of the family – a guiding presence whose love knew no bounds.
Her home was always a place of warmth and celebration. Tina had a special talent for transforming holidays into magical experiences – especially Christmas, when her home became a dazzling display of trees and miniature villages that delighted all who visited. She took particular pride in her appearance and was known for her impeccable style and elegance. Many knew her for her love of cuisine and the care with which she prepared every meal, leaving her so jubilant watching her guests enjoy every last bite.
She is survived by her son, Stephen Anderson, and his wife, Vicki Jo Anderson; daughter, Gayle Rafferty, and her husband, Kelly Rafferty; sister, Barbara Hicks; brother, Eddie Goulding; five granddaughters: Brooke, Brittany, Holly, Olivia, and Rachel; three great-grandsons: Lincoln, Caden, and Logan; as well as many friends whom she considered family.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Ian Anderson; second husband, Derek Clark; brother, John Goulding; mother, Louisa Henshaw; father, Joseph Goulding; and sister-in-law, June Young.
Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured with love, wisdom, and laughter – through every flower that blooms in the gardens that she tended. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her.
