Raymond Hoyt Obituary

Raymond Hoyt, 71

Raymond Hoyt was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, the first child of Raymond, Sr., and Doris Hamilton Hoyt. Raised in San Fernando Valley, Ray graduated from Canoga Park High School.

In 1973, Ray married Karen Jeffries, and had three daughters, Christina, Elizabeth, and Amanda. He subsequently married Marjorie Heath in 1991.

Ray had an entrepreneurial and competitive spirit and high ethical standards. He was a top producer with the Dale Carnegie organization and as an independent Farmers Insurance agent. He also owned multiple businesses, the last being several energy conservation companies. His customers loved him because he was an honest professional.

Ray supported various social clubs and fraternal organizations, including Active 20/30 and Rotary International.

In 2017, Ray and Marjorie moved to Coeur 'd Alene, where his three girls and their families had settled. He attended The Altar Church and was an active Christian, with a kind and generous heart and a gift for communication. He was a mentor and confidant to many, and his sudden death is a great loss.

Ray is pre-deceased by his parents, Ray and Doris Hoyt and his sister, Sherie Tallie. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie, brothers Robert and Donald (and wife Teri) Hoyt, his three daughters, Christina Boggess, Elizabeth Raymond and husband Phil, and Amanda Strom and husband, Norman, his four granddaughters, Alexis and Emily Austin, and Madilynn and Ruth Strom, plus numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am August 12th at The Altar Church, 901 East Best Avenue, Coeur 'd Alene.

In lieu of flowers, you may donate in Raymond's name to Relatives as Parents, Inc., the Coeur 'd Alene charity where Ray served as an active Board member and Santa for the children at the annual Christmas party. Their address is 3202 North Wedgewood Loop, Coeur 'd Alene, ID 83815.

One of many memories I have of my cousin was driving to San Francisco from LA with him and his 3 daughters. What a good time we had!!! Mandy and Beth kept yelling "moo cow" every time we saw a cows on that drive. I also met a man who played in the Super Bowl and saw the ring he got!!!
