Wayne Brewer Obituary
Wayne Lee Brewer, 95, of Rathdrum, Idaho, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025. Born on December 7, 1929, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Charles and Hazel Brewer, Wayne lived a life full of service, laughter, and love.
Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division, entering in 1942 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1952. After his military service, he dedicated many years as a police officer for the City of Englewood, California, and later worked in security at the Hollywood Racetrack before retiring.
On November 24, 1961, Wayne married the love of his life, Rita Corrine Brewer. For nearly 60 years, Wayne and Rita were inseparable-doing everything together, supporting each other through life's ups and downs, and building a family filled with love. Wayne adored Rita deeply, and since her passing in 2020, he looked forward to the day they would be reunited.
Wayne was a devoted father to Denise (Dale) Laube, Valerie Brewer, and Kristie (William) Kiley; a proud grandfather to Angelea Chambers, Kimberly Luedecke, Matthew Davis, Charlie Contla, and Jessie Roa; and a loving great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren.
He had a passion for fishing, trap shooting, and woodworking, and could often be found volunteering at the Rathdrum Community Center, where he was a familiar face and a friend to all. For many years, Wayne had the honor of placing the wreath at Pinegrove Cemetery in tribute to fallen veterans-a role he took to heart.
Wayne will be remembered for his sharp wit, kind heart, and sense of humor that could light up any room. He was a storyteller, a jokester, and someone who made everyone feel welcome. His life was a testament to service, friendship, and the power of a warm smile.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Pinegrove Cemetery, 6693 ID-53, Rathdrum, ID with a reception immediately following at the Rathdrum Community Center, 8037 Montana St., Rathdrum, ID.
