Charles Ellis "Charlie" Wilson

1942 - 2025

Charles "Charlie" Ellis Wilson, 83, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Born in Webster Springs, WV on May 22, 1942, he was the son of the late Earl and Glenice Hammons Wilson.

Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Army as part of the 29th Infantry Division and went on to dedicate 36 years as an electrician at Chrysler before retiring. He was truly a jack of all trades, always ready to lend a hand or fix what was broken. A proud member of several organizations, including Elkton Moose Lodge #851, Elkton VFW #8175, North East VFW #6027, Elkton American Legion Post #15, Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and the UAW #1183 Newark, DE. Charlie had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, working on vintage cars, and spending quality time with family. Above all, Charlie cherished time with his beloved granddaughter, who held a very special place in his heart. He was also an avid NASCAR and Baltimore Ravens fan.

Survivors include his son, Charles Wilson, Elkton, MD; granddaughter, Emily Wilson; daughter-in-law, Joy Wilson; numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews; and companion of 16 years, Joyce Foster, Elkton, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Shipley Wilson; sons, Steven Wilson and Brian Wilson; and many brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 502 Washington Avenue, Suite 300 Towson, MD 21204.
