When John wasn't working you could find him on the golf course at one of the various clubs he belonged to over the years. Being one of the original members, he called Patriot's Glen his second home. He passed this passion off to his children as their baseball and softball coach. He extended his talents as a softball umpire and served as the President of Elkton Little League for many years. Later in life, it was his grandchildren that kept his love of sports alive, where you could find him on the sidelines.
Volunteering was a large part of John's life, in addition to his contributions to Elkton Little League he belonged to the Elkton Jaycee's and the Cecil County Chapter of
The Special Olympics. Every Labor Day weekend you could find him watching the Jerry Lewis Telethon or raising money to support Jerry's kids, he was equally passionate about watching his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles.
John loved his family and friends and routed traditions that involved pool parties, holiday cooking, joke telling, karaoke, and singing. He will be dearly missed by his wife and children who will forever keep his memory alive.
