Robert Nixon Obituary
Bob served our country in the United States Army from 1972 to 1983. He was also the Chief of Chesapeake City Police Department from 1983 to 1991. During his professional career, Bob was a civilian engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 44 years. He traveled the country and loved taking back roads. Bob also loved trying new foods.
In addition to his mother, Bob is survived by his wife, Tamara Nixon, of Whiteford, MD, formerly of Rising Sun, MD; son, Robert Nixon and his wife Natalie, of Perryville, MD; son, Gregory Nixon, of Perryville, MD; daughter, Alicia Maxwell, of Wilmington, DE; daughter, Lauren Daugherty, of Perryville, MD; daughter, Kathryn Johnson and her husband William, of Perryville, MD; step-son, Eric Burton, of Rising Sun, MD; step-son, Dylan Burcham, of Rising Sun, MD; and grandson, William Johnson V.
A viewing for Robert Wayne Nixon will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, November 2 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 South Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 3 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. Family and friends may begin visiting at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at West Nottingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to "American Cancer Society" and sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Bob was one of those people you're just glad to have met.His family has my sincere condolences for their loss.

What I would give to hear you say Oh my just one more time. Your heartfelt laugh. A big BFUG hug from you to start the morning. How you would end a conversation with a genuine thank you for your support! You were the best test director I've ever worked with. Heck, JAB was the funnest test I've ever worked on. You've said that you don't have many friends, but there are countless people who have BFUG sized holes in their hearts right now. I love and miss you Bob. Thank you for the memories.

I'm so very sorry to read of Bob's passing. When I was on duty in Chesapeake City, or below, and, Bob was working, he was always a welcome back up, and friend. He even told some combatants on a call one evening that I was his sister, and they hadn't better mess with me. We laughed about it, and, I had folks in that area ask me if we were related, for months after. Bob will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
