Deborah Jones Obituary

Deborah Ann Jones fell asleep in death at her home in Louisa County on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
Debra was born on October 7, 1953, in Louisa County, Virginia, to George Morris Sr., and Alice Pendleton Morris.
She moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of three, graduated from Olney High School with outstanding awards and honors, with a goal to become a registered nurse (RN). She began her training toward a nursing career by attending Community College of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Many years later, after returning to Louisa County, she continued her pursuits by attending Piedmont Virginia Community College. After many years of facing adversity, on March 10, 2008, she acquired her degree and certification from the Board of Nursing and became a registered nurse in Virginia achieving her life-long dream.
Her last employment was with the Colonnade's Senior Living Community in Charlottesville. Her greatest passions and joy were working as a registered nurse surrounded by co-workers and friends, as well as serving Jehovah God and sharing her Bible-based beliefs with others. Debra was an avid student of the Holy Bible, bringing joy and love to herself and others.
Debra was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in March 2013 at a convention in Richmond, Virginia, and a member of the Mineral congregation.
Debra was preceded in death by her great parents, Thomas and Gladys Morris; uncles, Curtis Morris, Thomas Morris Jr. and Hilton Morris; aunt, Delores Johnson; and her cousins, Donald Morris Jr., Barbara Bishop and Norman Pendleton.
Debra is survived by her husband, Reginald Brunson; her loving parents, George and Alice Pendleton-Morris; son, Paul E. Jones Jr., and his wife, Jennifer Buckalew-Jones; three step-children, Cheryl Brunson, Carmella Johnson and her husband, Dale Johnson, and Darrell Brunson. She is also survived by her brother, George Morris Jr.; and sister, Alice Victoria Morris; seven grandchildren; "spiritual mother," Dorothy Anderson Viegt; and many loving family members and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Mineral. Burial followed in Spring Grove Memorial Cemetery, Mineral, Virginia.
Arrangements were made by D. D. Watson Mortician, Louisa Chapel.
