Catherine Drapcho Obituary

Catherine Caldana Drapcho November 8, 1922 - December 7, 2004 Catherine Caldana Drapcho of Snow Shoe, PA died Tuesday, December 7 at Brookline Village in State College, PA. Catherine was born November 8, 1922 in Glen Hope, PA. She was the first child of the late John Caldana and Catherine Caldana Corraini. Catherine graduated from Snow Shoe High School in 1940. She was the valedictorian of her class. On June 21,1952, she married Cyril A. Drapcho, who preceded her in death November 21, 2000. Catherine is survived by six children: daughter Cathy Drapcho Klein and her husband Kevin and children Katie and Rick, of Port Matilda; daughter Carol Everhart and her husband Duke and children Annmarie and Jennie, of Three Springs; daughter Cindy Drapcho Southland and her husband Jeff, of Indialantic, Florida; daughter Connie Drapcho Foti and her husband Mike and children Ryan and Tessa, of Diamond, Missouri; daughter Caye Drapcho of Central, South Carolina; and son Chris Drapcho and his wife Kathleen of Warrior's Mark. Catherine is also survived by two sisters, Caroline Carlson and Mary Watson, both of Snow Shoe. She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Caldana, George Caldana, and Marlin Caldana, all of Snow Shoe. Catherine was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She served on the Altar and Rosary Society of the church and the board of the Mountaintop Area Swimming Pool Association. Catherine was a homemaker, wife, and mother. She had also worked at J. H. France Refractories and Johnson and Morgan Construction Company as an office clerk. Catherine had an enthusiasm for life and a friendly interest in people of all ages. She was an avid reader. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength and courage, faith and love. Family and friends will be received at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Snow Shoe from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, December 10. Father Henry Joly will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, December 11 at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Catherine will be interred at St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mountaintop Area Swimming Pool Association, P.O. Box 9, Snow Shoe, PA 16874 or St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Nectarine Street, Snow Shoe, PA 16874. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home in Milesburg.
