David Klinefelter Obituary

David "Dog" Allen Klinefelter
August 8, 1967 - June 4, 2023
Bellefonte, Pennsylvania - David "Dog" Allen Klinefelter, 55, of Bellefonte, passed away at home on Sunday, June 4, 2023. Born on August 8, 1967, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Rick and Susan (Cruse) Klinefelter. On July 28, 1990, he married his beloved wife, Kristin (Robbins) Klinefelter, who survives at home after sharing nearly 33 years of marriage together.
Dave was a 1986 graduate of Bellefonte High School. He earned his associate degree from Allegheny Community College in Cumberland, Maryland. He played baseball in high school and college, where he holds records for pitching. In 1988, he was drafted during the 10th round by the Houston Astros. Following baseball, he worked for the Bellefonte Borough with 27 years of service, retiring in June of 2022 as the Assistant Superintendent.
In addition to his wife, Kristin, he is survived by their two sons, Adam and Chad Klinefelter, both of Bellefonte, and a granddaughter, Otilia "Tilly." Also surviving is a brother, Scott Klinefelter (Terri) of Julian, and two sisters, Amy Fisher (Dave) of Bellefonte, and Jodi McLaughlin of La Porte City, Iowa, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dave stayed active in the community throughout his life. He was a member of the Bellefonte Lions Club, the Bellefonte Moose Lodge #206, where he served as a past President, the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094, the American Legion Post #867 in Pleasant Gap, and the Undine Fire Company in Bellefonte. He was proud of being a teener league coach for over 15 years, sharing his love for the game of baseball with countless youth over the years. He also enjoyed camping with his core group, golfing, and traveling, especially to the Indian River Inlet in Delaware – one of his favorite destinations. Some will remember Dave as a friend, coach, or co-worker, but more than anything, he loved the roles that he played at home – a husband, father, brother, uncle, and his most favorite, Pappy. He leaves his loved ones with memories that will last a lifetime.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 2:00-6:00 PM, at The Moose Lodge #206, 125 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dave to the Bellefonte Little League, PO Box 517, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
