Heather and my father and aunt grew up together. When in my early 20's I met Heather and she was a life-long friend of mine as well. She was the kindest and most beautiful soul. There are not just "kind" words people say about those who pass, this is truly the lady Heather was. She will always be with me in my heart. We shared over fifty years bound by "something" special. I always aspired to be a kind, warm woman like Heather in my life. She was a great role model to me and she treated me like a daughter. I was very saddened to learn of her passing. I was sitting down to write her a letter regardless that my letters had long gone unanswered for over a year. I just wanted to know someone was reading them to her so she would know I was thinking of her. I have not quit thinking of her since she passed either. Bless you, Heather, those days we did have and for all the lives you touched along the way. You have not and will not be forgotten you.
Love,
Jaine

Heather Fleck was my favorite Aunt and namesake. We exchanged letters throughout my childhood and into my adulthood. She also kept in touch with my father. She gave me my first Hawaiian grass skirt and dress. I remember the beautiful flower lays. As she aged I started to receive back family photos that she wanted to make sure I would have. She lived such a long beautiful, experienced life. Sending Love and Prayers, Heather Nugent ( the second Heather)

Heather grew up with my father (Troval Mewhirter) and my aunt (Sharon Mewhirter Woods) since some time in the 1930's. I met her when she (finally) became my father's girlfriend. She and I hit it off and became friends for years long after they broke up. I loved Heather and I corresponded with her until just before her death. She had not been able to answer my letters but knowing she was still alive, I continued to write. She was always in and on my mind and my heart hurt when she died. I wish all her relatives she left behind well. I say goodbye with a sadness reserved for a parent. Godspeed Heather.

Mrs. Fleck was a fun person to be around. We enjoyed seeing her at church and our family would often sit near her and Mr. Fleck. In recent years when I would tell her on the way out of church to be good, she would say, "I´m a hundred and not sure I remember how!" We ushers miss her making our Sunday mornings fun.

Heather was a genuine friend to my mom and dad, Emily and Barney McCormick. They lived next-door at the village. I also became friends with Heather through my parents ... and I continued to visit with Heather after my parents passed away. We had a special relationship. I will miss seeing her and she will always be a vivid role model in my life. Bless you and rest in peace dear Heather. Lovingly, Cindy, McCormick Miceli.

So very sorry for your loss. Heather was a wonderful person she always told you the way it was good or bad. That is what I liked about her. We would talk about all different things often she was right. Heather had so much wisdom.
Rest in Peace dear friend, you will be so missed.
