Nell J. Zerby

Nell J. Zerby September 2, 1933 November 9, 2015 Nell J. Zerby, 82, of Bellefonte, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015, at the Mount Nittany Medical Center in College Township. Born on September 2, 1933, in Prossertown, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Carrie (Hazel) Richards. On July 14, 1951, she married Harry N. Zerby who preceded her in death on May 11, 2000. She attended the Bellefonte School System. Nell was a homemaker and also worked as a waitress for the Bellefonte Moose. She was a member of the United Church of Christ. Nell was also a member of the Women of the Moose, the Bellefonte American Legion Auxiliary, the Bellefonte Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, and also a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #4320. Nell is survived by two daughters, Nancy Spantak, of Reading and Karen Zerby, of Bellefonte; by two sons, Michael Zerby, of Bellefonte and Richard Zerby, also of Bellefonte; by one sister, Louise Hendershot, of Bellefonte; by two grandchildren, Jennifer (Jesse) Rutherford, of Phoenix, Ariz. and Jason Spantak and his fiancee, Jennifer Kramlich, of Reading; and by two great grandchildren, Ayden Spantak and Jace Spantak. Along with her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Funeral and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
