Port Matilda, Pennsylvania - Peggy Ann (Bloom) Eggler, 77, of Port Matilda, PA, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025. Born on July 6, 1947, in Pine Grove Mills, PA, to John W. Bloom and Jean E. (Richards) Bloom, Peggy was a 1965 graduate of State College High School. She married her beloved husband, Richard Eggler, on August 26, 1967, and they shared 57 wonderful years together.

Peggy was a lifelong resident of State College until her retirement, when she and Richard built their dream home in Port Matilda, where she did what she loved. There, she indulged in her passions for sewing, painting, and crocheting. Her family and friends were often the lucky recipients of her beautiful creations, including paintings, wedding dresses, and crocheted blankets for her grandchildren, which are cherished keepsakes.

Peggy was also an avid bowler and enjoyed entertaining with her accordion skills. She worked at Murata Erie for several years before joining HRB Systems/Raytheon, where she remained until her retirement.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Rick Eggler of Port Matilda; her children, Kelly Greenland and husband Gerald of Penna Furnace, Christie Kocher and husband Gary of Penna Furnace, and Kari Eggler of Phillipsburg; her 8 grandchildren, Shaun, Marie, Casie, Tonya, Evan, Dillon, Branton, and Brenna; and her 11 great-grandchildren, Casen, Delaney, Crew, Chase, Avalyn, Karina, Zayden, Flynn, Myla, Colton, and Laken. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Rogers of Howard, PA, and her brother, Fred Bloom of Maine.

Peggy was preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Lehman; her brother, John Bloom Jr.; and her stepson, Todd Rathmell.

Peggy's final resting place will be at Pine Hall Cemetery in State College, PA and services will be private. A Celebration of Life honoring Peggy will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m., at Rolling Rails Lodge, 248 Custred Lane, Port Matilda, PA. The family warmly invites all who knew her to join in sharing memories, conversation, and food in her memory.

Peggy will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
