Ruby Mae Wilson Bentle July 22, 1918 - February 6, 2010 Ruby Mae Wilson Bentle, 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Bellefonte, and formerly of Fort Thomas, Ky., and Falmouth, Ky., died peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 22, 1918, in Pendleton County, Ky., a daughter of the late Clema T. (Hill) and Berry Newton Wilson. On Aug. 30, 1939, in Falmouth, Ky., she married William Harold Bentle. They were married for 67 years. She had two children, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Ruby was many things to many people, but most remember her as a talented cook and wonderful and gracious hostess. Many, many family dinners and parties were held and enjoyed in her home throughout the years. In the early years, she attended and graduated from Falmouth High School and also attended Eastern Kentucky State College. From 1951 to 1952 she attended beauty school. She was a beautician for more than 30 years until her retirement in Marcelle's Beauty Shop, Fort Thomas, Ky., which was owned and operated by her sister, Marcella Kelly. She was dearly loved by her customers and she maintained friendships with many of them throughout her life. She was also an active and devoted church member of both the Christ United Church of Christ in Fort Thomas, Ky., where her daughter was married, and the Falmouth Christian Church, where she was married. In the late 1970's, Ruby and Harold bought lake front property near Kincaid Lake State Park and designed and built their dream home. They called their home "Rainbow's End" and spent more than 25 happy years there until moving to Bellefonte in December 2003 to live with their daughter, Karen and her family. Her greatest joys in life were her husband, Harold, spending time with her family and friends especially her bridge club ladies, and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook, entertain, sew, read, garden, play Scrabble, work crossword puzzles and attend concerts. Ruby is survived by a son, William Wilson Bentle and his wife Susan, of Kalispell, Mont., a daughter, Karen Lee Griggs, of Bellefonte; four grandchildren, William Dante Bentle and his wife Sonia, of Cincinnati, Gabriel Griggs and wife Christina, of Florence, Ky., Leah Guizar and her husband, Jon, of Bellefonte, Daniel Griggs and his wife Leila, of New Holland; and eight great-grandchildren Austin and Jacob Bentle, Christina Hartman, Emma and Lauren Griggs, and Eden, Caden and Vivian Maelynn Guizar (named in honor of Ruby, who was very please and proud to be present at her birth). "Sonny" Wilson, of Dry Ridge, KY., and a sister, Bonnie Kavanaugh, of Falmouth, Ky.; a stepsister, Ardonna Brown, of Falmouth, Ky.; her beloved niece, Patty Kattenhorn, of Fort Thomas, Ky.; and numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
