Robert Ebeling Obituary

Robert E. Ebeling, 81, of Urbana passed away at 8:02 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Carle Foundation, Urbana. He was born in Urbana, Illinois on September 13, 1943, the son of Heye & Marie (Sjuts) Ebeling. Robert is survived by his son - Robert M. Ebeling of Thomasboro, IL; daughter- Kathleen M. Ebeling of Urbana, IL; ex-wife - Patricia (Morran) Ebeling of Urbana, IL; and brother- Rudolph H. Ebeling of Urbana, IL. He is preceded by his parents, wife - Carol (Curzon) Ebeling and sister-in-law, Elaine Ebeling. Robert was drafted into the Army after high school where he served overseas during the Vietnam War. He is retired from the Urbana Fire Department, Farming, and working at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in the Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL). Robert enjoyed spending time with his children, and his older brother, his pets including his dogs and cats, as well as being an avid leisurely driver. An intimate family gathering will be held at Renner-Wikoff Chapel & Crematory, 1900 S. Philo Rd, Urbana, IL 61802. On Tuesday, March 18th, 2025 at 1:00pm, a public graveside service will be held at Grandview Memorial Garden, 4112 W Bloomington Rd, Champaign, IL 61822.
