Joan Renee Kirby N. CHARLESTON - Joan Renee Kirby, 58, wife of Larry Kirby, of N. Charleston, SC, died Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Parks Funeral Home, in Summerville, SC, Saturday afternoon, September 18, 2010, from 4 - 6 o'clock so that there won't be a conflict with the West Virginia Mountaineers football game. Burial will be held at a later date. Mrs. Kirby was born August 27, 1952, in Charleston, WVA, the daughter of Bob Bennett and Ruth Ann Hensley Bennett. She was a retired RN-Oncology. Her greatest joy was nursing, and she worked in that field for over 20 years. Joan was a Master Gardener and a fantastic cook, and she could only live in towns named Charleston. Survivors include her husband, Larry Kirby of N. Charleston, SC; three daughters, Heather Hill of Sarasota, FL, Carrie Swiderski of Charlotte, NC and Kelly Inglis of Albany, NY; six sons, Christian Hill of Charleston, WVA, Jeremy Hill of Concord, MA, Kip Kirby of Albany, NY, Ian Holcomb and Jordan Holcomb, both of Jackson, WY, and Parker Kirby of Charleston, SC; 11 grandchildren; her father, Robert Bennett of Sun City West, AZ and one brother, Tom Bennett of Raleigh, NC.
