I'm so saddened to hear about the passing of Ray. He was a good friend over so many years in Charlotte, and he would call me for lunch when he was up here in order to look over an investment project in Denver, NC. I always enjoyed his company and his laughter. He had a joyous life and was such a success story as an attorney and as an investor in his land projects. I will always remember him, miss him, and consider him one of my best friends in life. God Speed my ole friend. David Caudle

I knew Ray well when we were teens. He was one of the good guys from Warsaw and I from Turkey. It was always a treat to see him in Charlotte when I was there for business. He created a special during his career and with friends. France´s and David were friends in my home Church.

Ray, excellent tribute to your life. What a unique idea to write your own pre-obit, maybe it will catch on. You have been a good friend for many years and I pray that your demise is not forthcoming! Thanks for always being there. Love, Betsy

I met Ray in the late `60s through friends at work. He, wife Carolyn and daughter Bentley lived next to me later. I referred many clients to Ray to handle their mortgage loan closings. Many years later Ray met his second wife Carolyn at a party at my home. I considered him a friend for life. I always admired his success. He seemed the happiest after moving to West Palm Beach. Rest in peace my dear friend, you deserve it.
