Alfredo Saragoni Obituary

LAKE NORMAN -- Alfredo Mario Luciano Saragoni, 76, of Jupiter, FL, formerly of Lake Norman, NC and South FL, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2003. Mr. Saragoni was born in Carrerra, Italy and served in the Italian Army until moving to the United States. Alfredo was a personal chef for John F. Kennedy, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe and many other famous celebrities. He owned and operated or was associated with many restaurants including Saragoni's Italian Restaurant, North Carolina, The Breakers and Taboo, Palm Beach, FL, Petite Marmite and Bahia Mar, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Montauk Manor, Long Island, NY, and Nick's Tomato Pie, Jupiter, FL. He was also instrumental in introducing Pasta Salad to the U.S.
Mr. Saragoni is survived by son, Mario Harold John (Kimberly) Saragoni of Mooresville, NC; two daughters, Susan C. Saragoni Chamberlain of Jupiter, FL and Peri (Bill) Youmans of Long Island, NY; eight grandchildren, Nick, Andrew & Danielle Saragoni and Krystle, Jessica Marie and Billy Chamberlain and Brittney and William Youmans; sister, Malfa (Aldo) Filippi; nephew, Fabrizio Filippi. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Angela Saragoni.
A funeral service was held Monday, March 10 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, Boynton Beach, FL. Burial followed in Boynton Beach Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, NCICFUL, PO Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454 in Mr. Saragoni's memory.
