Ashokkumar Chetty Obituary
'Chet'
Mr. Chetty, son of a prominent scholar and philosopher, was born November 10, 1936 in Bombay, India and went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ on Monday, November 26, 2007 in Charlotte, NC.
Chet was an international business man and traveled extensively. More important than business was his relationship with his Lord and his family. They were the true loves of his life. He always remembered to send his wife flowers every week. He leaves behind trusted friends and business colleagues all over the world who will miss him deeply, including his faithful friend Harley, his loving Yorkshire Terrier. Chet had a love for music of all kinds, but especially jazz. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, and a member of Calvary Church.
The loving family he leaves behind includes his wife, Chaya Chetty of Charlotte; daughter, Pranjali Chetty of Charlotte; sister, Neela Gogte of Bombay, India; and numerous other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 1-2pm Friday at Harry and Bryant Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2pm Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. C. Ron Riley and Dr. John 'Chip' Sloan officiating.

I met Mr. Chetty thru his work many years ago and I found out alot about the type of person his was. He was a honest upright person, he was fair in his dealing. He love his work but most of all he love his family and the Lord. He would always ask how my faily was doing and we would talk about the Lord. I'll glad I had the chance to work with him, be a friend and most of all a brother in Christ. I am so sorry for your loss and our heat goes to all his family. You will be in my prays and one day we will see him again because we know where his is and one day we will be there with him. We know to be absence from this world is to be present with the "LORD". May God alway bless you and your family.

I met Ashok about seven years ago. At that time we went to the same church (The Way Home). He always had a smile and an encouraging word for me. I always looked forward to seeing him. I remember he reccomended the book"Who moved my cheese?" to me, and lo and behold it turned out to be a missing piece in my recovery.
I moved to Wilmington in 2005, and just learned of his passing last week. I shall never forget him, and I shall miss him.
