Bo Matthews

Bo Matthews CHARLOTTE - Francis Bonneau "Bo" Matthews, Jr., was born March 24, 1951 in Charlotte, and died Aug. 18, 2013. Bo grew up on Sharon Road and graduated from Myers Park High School in 1969. After high school, he served in the US Army in Vietnam. Bo earned two degrees from Central Piedmont Community College, B.A. from UNCC, and a Juris Doctor from Seattle University, formerly known as University of Puget Sound School of Law, Tacoma, Washington. He worked for the Victim-Witness Program in Loudoun County, Virginia after law school, then returned to Charlotte to head the Paralegal Studies Program at Central Piedmont Community College. Bo had been in declining health for several years. Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife, Elaine Corley Matthews, daughter, Katie, and son, Lance Corporal John Matthews, USMC; brothers David Matthews and John Matthews of Charlotte, and sister Mary Jane Keever of Asheville. A Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Charlotte, followed by a reception.
