Brian Corby Obituary

Brian Richard Corby
CASAR -- Mr. Corby, 40, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away Thursday morning, October 16, 2003, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Brian is survived by his wife and best friend of 22 years, Jennifer Lynn Corby, and five children, daughter Holly Catherine Corby, son Nicholas Brian Corby, daughters Olivia Shannon Corby, Liza Noel Corby and Claire Amelia Corby, all of Casar, NC.
Brian was born on May 5, 1963 in Trenton, NJ, the son of Tom and Betty Ann Corby of Cary, NC. Along with his parents, Brian is also survived by his brother, Tom Corby and his wife, Paula, and daughters Margeaux and Glennis, of Pasadena, MD; his sister Karen Marhefka and her husband, John, and godchild Caroline Jette, of Millbury, MA; his sister Lisa Kimball and her husband, Lt. Col. J. Allen Kimball and their children, Kaitlyn, Jacob and Danielle, of Las Vegas, NV; sister Nancy Cromie and her husband, Marc, and their children, Hayden, Kali and Will, of Hixson, TN. Brian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edmund and Leona Quirin, and Thomas and Catherine Corby.
Brian graduated in 1981 from Cardinal Gibbons High School, Raleigh, NC, and from Appalachian State University in 1985. He was a manager for Atlantech Distribution, Hampton, VA and Charlotte, NC, and most recently worked for Polar Plastics in the human resources division. Brian leaves dear friends at Polkville Methodist Church, Polkville, NC and at Double Shoals Methodist Church in Double Shoals, NC.
Brian devoted his life to his family and became our inspiration as to what constitutes real joy and happiness. He was the best of us all.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Noon today at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Apex, NC. There will be a visitation on Sunday, October 19, from 1-5 PM at the home of Tom and Betty Ann Corby, 109 Lochinvar Court, Cary, NC.
In lieu of flowers and in memory to Brian, contributions may be made payable to College Fund in Honor of Brian Corby, Bank of America. Please send to Jennifer Corby, 109 Moriah School Road, Casar, NC 28020.
