Chad Langdon Obituary

Chad Langdon, 35, passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack on November 27, 2016. He was born on December 22, 1980 in Greensboro, NC.

Chad attended Duke's TIP program for three years during middle school and high school. He graduated from Page High School in Greensboro, during which time he earned the Eagle Scout Award. He was an entrepreneur from age 8, when he sold coffee and donuts to a construction crew in the neighborhood and it continued to today, with the tie dye business venture he was working on. Sustainability was also very important to Chad, and he was in the process of gaining a degree in Solar Energy Management.

Chad had a vibrant spirit and energy that drew people in and made everyone feel better just by being around him. He never met a stranger and he radiated love and life. Chad was a huge music fan, especially the Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic, and he has friends far and wide that he met through his love of music. All his friends and loved ones can attest that he gave the world's best hugs.

He is survived by his parents, Rick and Karen Langdon of Greensboro; his sister, Courtney Langdon of Charlotte; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many friends.

The service to honor Chad's life will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, December 4, 2016 in Harry & Bryant's "Chapel in the Oaks", 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to: First Step, 1623 E Sunset Drive, Monroe, NC 28112.

Rick and Karen,
I can't begin to understand the sadness and grief that you and Karen must be going through at this most difficult time. The premature lose of a child is the most difficult thing a parent can experience. The old adage "bad things happen to good people" certainly applies here.
Your friend, Bob

I don't think I can make it due to car trouble and neither can Matt, something is wrong with his car. I got t-shirts and made pictures of your beautiful face on them, the one that was tie dyed looking of your face with the trees in the background someone posted on Facebook, and Matt and I were going to wear them today. We are posting a pic of us wearing them on Facebook.

Thank you for giving Matt to me he drives me a little nuts but he's my friend has been pretty good to me, and I really appreciate him in my life.

I am really grateful for your friendship and love and I'm so sorry I didn't get to see you again thanks to you know who doing you know what to me at that festival.

You've made me value people in my life I love more and made me see there are good people in the world when so many people have hurt me. I really wanted to be here today to give you a good send off to where ever we go after this life.

I hope the after life is one big beautiful party that feels amazing and is better than anything life could offer us and that you know how loved you are and always will be loved and remembered.

You were one of my best friends and you cannot be replaced I will always honor your life somehow some way I will. I am absolutely devastated by your passing, Chad. You have no idea how sad this is for me. We are going to play music you would like today since we cannot make it there.

I am so very saddened and still in shock over the passing of a great friend and an even greater person. I'll remember hanging out at Amalie's or having a beer at the pool. I'll always remember Chad's smile, it could turn my worst days around. And yes, Chad gave the best hugs. My sincerest condolences to Chad's family in this difficult time. But I pray he found his way home, and that he's smiling down upon our gloomy faces.
